August and September were another couple of crazy months in the Starling’s nest, beginning with the annual “show circuit” of fishing tackle, boating and 4WD expos around the nation, before rolling into a string of filming and tournament commitments for both of us.

Perhaps the most exciting news from these two very busy months was the success of Jo’s “Barra’Prentice” team in the Secret Women’s Business Barra Tournament staged on Corroboree Billabong in the Top End… But we’ll save the full scoop on that for a stand-alone blog from Jo! (And you can also see photos and reports on Jo’s Barra’Prentice page on Facebook).

Steve was also able to complete the second episode of his new “A Fisherman’s Life” TV series, made exclusively for the subscription streaming service. (Fishflicks is the Netflix of fishin’, huntin’, boatin’, campin’ and off-roadin’.) This episode was shot at Somerset and Wivenhoe Dams in south eastern Queensland, and features some absolute honker Australian bass, as well as all the low-down and good oil on how to catch them. You can find out more and keep tabs on the release date of the series by going to the “A Fisherman’s Life” page on Facebook.

Steve also travelled extensively throughout August and September shooting segments for “The Offroad Adventure Show” on Networks TEN and ONE HD, before heading back up to Queensland to commentate and present on Series 14 of the AFC Outdoors made-for-TV tournament series… but more on all of that next time!

The other great news is that Steve’s SFF signature clothing line is slowly finding it’s way into more and more retail outlets, and we hope to be able to bring you a list of all those outlets very soon. Meanwhile, of course, you can check the range out and purchase items from it right here on the Mad keen website!

Until next month, Tight Lines… and don’t forget to keep an eye out for Jo’s blog on the SWB (secret Women’s Business) Barra Challenge!
