We put the question out to our Mad Keen Team – Where is your dream/top of the bucket list place to fish. We were stoked to see the variety of responses come through! A couple of our team members had a hard time choosing just one destination though!

The Kimberley Coast:
Ernie and Sam “Our dream would be to be abroad a mothership or at one of the remote fishing lodges on the Kimberley Coast, where you can fish all day every day”
The Kimberley Coast is considered one of the best fishing regions in Australia. There is a wide variety of fish to catch including; Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, Fingermark, Mulloway, Giant Trevally, Spanish Mackerel, Tuna, Coral Trout and plenty more species. Not only is there an abundance of fish to catch there is also a wide variety of fishing conditions. Including; mangrove lined creeks, estuaries, flats, offshore reefs, islands as well as blue water. The Kimberley Coast is one of very few fishing destinations in Australia which offers such diverse options to anglers!
The Cocos Islands:
Craig Wise, “My dream would be the Cocos Islands. The Flat fishing for Bonefish is Second to none. Then there’s the
Giant Trevally, Sailfish and Doggies to name a few. Not to mention you’ll be fishing in one of the most beautiful places in the world”
Situated off the coast of Western Australia in the Indian Ocean are the Cocos Islands. The area is made up of 27 coral islands – two of which are inhabited. The clear turquoise waters and diverse range of species on the islands make the Cocos Islands a fishing paradise! From Bonefish fly-fishing to Pelagics such as wahoo, mahi-mahi and Sailfish.
Nova Scotia, Canada:
Cliff Mann: “Anywhere with Giant Tuna!”
Nova Scotia offers 7600km of saltwater coastline, 6700 lakes and 100 rivers meaning that there are never-ending opportunities to fish in this area! Fisherman from all around the world flock to Northumberland Shore to chase some Giant Bluefin Tuna that can reach up to 500kgs!
Shane Ling, “In a mothership off Weipa with a tender taking me to all of the hotspots for all tropical species would be absolutely awesome!”
Weipa is located on the eastern side of the Gulf of Carpentaria and about two thirds of the way up the western shore of Cape York. This small mining towns is a cracking location to catch some epic fish! Fish available include; Queenfish, Giant Trevally, Milkfish, Barramundi, Longtail Tuna, Spanish Mackerel to name a few!
Florida Keys, USA:

Florida Keys is a coral archipelago stretching into the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean. This stretch of land provides numerous launch points to some of the most diverse and productive salt waters in North America. Florida Keys is home to pristine flats and coral reefs with reef edges acting as final step out to deep blue water. The Keys remains to be a saltwater angler’s paradise.
